James Mack Clyde Drake, 76, Peculiar, MO, died Friday, January 25, 2019 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. A Celebration Of Life reception was held on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at The Lumber Co. Event Space, 109 W. Broadway, Peculiar, MO. Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
James was born January 3, 1943 in Kansas City, KS, a son of Clyde Shurley and Ruby Imo (Cates) Drake. He was raised in the Rosedale area of Kansas City, KS and had attended Park College in Parkville, MO. He was The Learning Center Director for The Alliance/AT&T in Lee's Summit, MO thirty years before his retirement in 2018. James was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He had lived in Cleveland, MO before moving to Peculiar last year.
He is survived by his life partner of 39 years, Bill Harper, of the home, and two sisters, Becky Foster, Sturkie, AR, and Deb Drake, Kansas City, KS.
