Obituary

James "Jim" Bernard Carver, 53, Freeman, Missouri, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at his home. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 20 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville, Missouri with inurnment to follow in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Visitation will be from 10:00-10:30.

Jim was born December 30, 1960 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Herbert Hoover William and Joan Mary (Weis) Carver, Sr. He was a 1979 graduate of Cass Midway High School and was a lifelong Cass County, Missouri resident. Jim married Connie Gonzales on December 30, 1980 in Kansas City, Missouri. He had worked in maintenance for Kansas City Terminal Railway in Kansas City, Missouri for 13 years. He later worked for Penny's Concrete as a truck driver for 19 years before retiring.

Jim was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville and was a volunteer fire fighter and EMT in Garden City, Missouri. He was also Boy Scout leader in Garden City, Missouri.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Rory Carver. He is survived by his wife, Connie, of the home; two sons, James B. Carver, Jr. and Rory Randall Carver, both of Freeman, Missouri; two daughters, Cynthia Marie Carver, Peculiar, Missouri and Nina Agnes Carver, Springfield, Missouri; seven brothers, Herbert H. Carver, Jr. (Verna) and Martin M. Carver (Virginia), all of East Lynne, Missouri, Russell Carver (Shelly), Art Carver (Marie), Mike Carver, Matt Carver (Angel), all of Freeman, Missouri and Clint Carver (Carmen), Harrisonville, Missouri; four sisters, Tina Carver, Freeman, Missouri, Diane Tomacelli (Joseph), Osceola, Missouri, Donna Bloustine (Steve), Harrisonville, Missouri, and Mary Austin (Jason), Peculiar, Missouri.
