Harvey was born October 11, 1918 near Adrian, Missouri, the oldest son of J. B. and Jessie Belle (Oyler) Addleman. Harvey attended school at Adrian and Mound Valley in Bates County. He farmed some with his father before marrying Eva Chitwood on July 26, 1938. They moved near Merwin, Missouri, where they farmed and raised their children, James Darrel and Delores Ann.
The family attended the Merwin Christian Church where Harvey was an elder in the church. Eva preceded Harvey in death in June, 1966. In 1967, he married Lenola Jean Barnett who had three children, Linda, Larry, and Merrie. They farmed and also spread fertilizer in the Adrian and Butler area for Buerge and COOP elevators. Harvey and Jean moved to Adrian in 1991 and attended the Adrian Christian Church where he was an elder. Harvey was a very kind and considerate person, always ready and willing to help where needed.
Harvey's fondest memories were of his many travels across the country. He loved to tell stories of his trip to Alaska or Canada, or trips to Idaho, Wyoming, Michigan; every part of the country but the upper northeast, although he loved Missouri and Oklahoma best.
