Jacqueline M. Wood, 90, Appleton City, MO, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Ellett Memorial Hospital in Appleton City. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2011 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville, MO. (No services). Private family burial will be in Peculiar Cemetery, Peculiar, MO.
Jacqueline was born March 20, 1921 in Peculiar, MO, the daughter of Marvin and Maggie Pearl (Wilson) Quick. She married Orville Beckett on January 9, 1937 and they had one son, Ronnie Lee Beckett, born July 12, 1941. Both Orville and Ronnie preceded her in death. Jacqueline married Kenneth Siecke on December 11, 1956 and they had one son, Gregg Allen Siecke, born October 24, 1957. Both Kenneth and Gregg preceded her in death. She married Albert Leonard Wood September 17, 1988 and was later divorced.
Jacqueline's first job was at Union Station in 1947 as a Fred Harvey Girl for 12 years. Then she worked for Borden Dairy for a year and a half and later, Russell Stovers candy for a year. Next, she owned a restaurant in Peculiar and then the drug store. Then Dobey's Liquor and Johnny's Liquor.
She also worked at the Union Station Telephone office in Peculiar, Ted Beeghley Cleaning in Belton and The Red Onion restaurant in Harrisonville. She also worked at a nursing home in Grandview for four years and again at the Red Onion restaurant. Her last job was at the Credit Bureau of Greater Kansas City for 10 years. She retired in 1983. She moved to Rinkle City in Peculiar in 1984 and cooked for the Lions Club.
Jacqueline is survived by grandsons, Curtis Beckett of Drexel, MO, Steven Beckett and wife, Stephani of Appleton City, MO and Jeff Beckett of Harrisonville, MO; 6 great-grandchildren, Ashley Beckett, Justin Beckett, Megan Beckett, Taylor Beckett, Lexee Beckett and Hunter Beckett; 4 great-great-grandchildren, Owen Klier, Bex Klier, Casen Siebert and Kensie Siebert. She is also survived by a niece, Joan Hill, a nephews, Gary Bronson and numerous great nieces and nephews, as well as friends.
