Jackie "Jack" Vance Talley, 72, Adrian, MO, died Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at his home. A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, July 31, 2008 at the Atkinson Chapel, Adrian, MO. Cremation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Adrian Athletic Fund.

Jack was born June 20, 1936 in Bates County, MO, the son of Vance and Minnie (McCabe) Talley. He was a lifelong Bates County, MO area resident. Jack attended Buckhorn Grade School and Adrian High School. He married June Lacy in 1955. They had four children, Chuck, Janet, Mitchell and Steven.

Jack loved to watch the kids play sports. He enjoyed having the young kids around to watch them play and he would read their books to them. He liked to mow his yard and work in his garden.

Jack worked for Bendix/Honeywell for 51 years and made many good friends. He missed them after he retired.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Clifford and Jim, two sisters, Hazel Frazier and Ditty Jackson and one granddaughter, Darby Talley. He is survived by his wife, June, of the home; three sons, Chuck Talley and his wife, Joyce, Mitch Talley and his wife, Kelly and Steven Talley and his wife, Marsha and one daughter, Janet Moreland, all of Adrian, MO; three sisters, Bonnie Cumpton, Neva Green and Mary Dickerson and her husband, Dick, all of Adrian, MO; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
