Jack Fitzmorris Curtis, 82, Peculiar, Missouri, died Friday, May 24, 2013 at Belton Regional Medical Center in Belton, Missouri. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Climax Springs Cemetery in Climax Springs, Missouri. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Jack was born June 15, 1930 in Independence, Missouri, the son of Orville L. and Margaret Ann (Fitzmorris) Curtis. He had lived in the Kansas City, Missouri area most of his life. He lived in Laurie, Missouri before moving to Peculiar in 1987. Jack married W. Christine Curtis on August 31, 1951. He worked as an electrical engineer for a heating and cooling company. He was a 2nd Lt. in the U. S. Army Reserves, serving from 1955-1959.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Christine on December 24, 1993. He is survived by two sons, Kelly Curtis and his wife, Kathy, Peculiar, Missouri and Rev. Isreal Curtis, Plantersville, Texas; one daughter, Teri Downey and her husband, Jerry, Peculiar, Missouri; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
