Izola Fay (Conard) Zellmer, 90, of Freeman, MO, passed away, February 28, 2007, in Harrisonville, MO. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville, MO at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, with visitation from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 2. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Hank and Izola Zellmer Scholarship Fund in care of the First Baptist Church of Harrisonville.

Izola was born June 2, 1916, near Passaic, MO, the daughter of Ross Herbert and Lily Mae (Feeback) Conard. She was a 1934 graduate of Butler High School. On June 24, 1934, she married Carl Henry (Hank) Zellmer.

Izola was a member of the First Baptist Church of Harrisonville and enjoyed teaching Sunday School Classes for many years. With her love of flowers and gardening, she became a member of the Cassco Garden Club. She also enjoyed participation in the Cass County Extension Club and served as Missouri State President in 1964.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Carl Henry (Hank) Zellmer on August 29, 1997, two brothers, Arthur Austin (Dick) Conard and William Herbert Conard, six sisters, Mrs. Fred (Iva) Bruner, Mrs. Charles (Louella) Henderson, Mrs. Robert (Maggie) Everett, Mrs. Odel (Velma) Dyer, Mrs. Lloyd (Ruby) Baker and Mrs. Gene (Martha) Whitehead.

Izola is survived by two sons, Ted J. Zellmer and wife, Virginia and their daughters, Peggy June Heid and husband, Brent and Vicky Jo Hartzler and husband, Lowell, all of Harrisonville, MO and Fred L. Zellmer and wife, Linda, Freeman, MO and their daughters, Anne Elizabeth Jenkins and husband, R. Duncan, Liberty, MO and Lee Allison Mays and husband, D. Craig, Freeman, MO and great-grandchildren, Jared Taylor, Devin Alan, Landon James, Caleb Andrew Heid, Tiffany Renee Hartzler, all of Harrisonville and Elizabeth Sophrona and Benjamin Thomas Mays, Freeman, MO.
