Maxine Washam, 84, of Harrisonville, Missouri died Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the Oakland Cemetery in Harrisonville. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010 at the Ridgewood Court Community Room in Harrisonville.
Maxine was born October 22, 1926 in Bashor, KS, the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Webster) Jacka. She lived in Oklahoma and Miller, MO before moving to Kansas City, MO in 1949. She moved to Harrisonville in 1965. She worked at Russell Stover in Kansas City for 20 years. She had also worked at the Harrisonville Bus Station, owned the Red Onion Restaurant in Harrisonville and worked at Ken's Liquor and Ken's Mini-Mart in Harrisonville. Maxine attended the Harrisonville United Methodist Church.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James in 1971, a son, Ronald L. Washam, a granddaughter, Micah Alden, her companion and friend, Maurice Hawkins and seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by one son, Dan Masters and his wife, Marlene of Independence, MO; a daughter-in-law, Anita Washam and a brother-in-law, Max Washam; and three grandchildren, William Dickens, Jr., Tiffany Alden and Lawrence Washam.
