Isabel "Liz" Moses, 47, of Harrisonville, MO died Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 23 with a Rosary at 8:00 p.m. at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.
Liz was born March 14, 1963 in Kansas City, KS, the daughter of Joseph and Guadalupe (Moreno) Liera. She grew up in Kansas City, MO and moved to Harrisonville in 1988. Liz was united in marriage to Elvon "Butch" Moses on January 6, 1988. She was a Catholic.
Liz owned and operated The Border Mexican Restaurant in Harrisonville in 1991. She also ran an in-home day care for a number of years. Liz enjoyed raising her family and loved to cook.
Liz was preceded in death by her father. Her sister, Teresa Sierra died three days after Liz, on June 22, 2010. She is survived by her husband, Butch Moses, of the home; one son, John Ortiz, East Lynne, MO; two daughters, Emy Lou Holtwick, Garden City, MO and Sasha Moses, Harrisonville, MO; her mother, Guadalupe Liera, Kansas City, MO; four brothers, Jesse Liera, Salt Lake City, Utah; Martin Liera, Joseph Liera and Herbert Liera, all of Kansas City, MO; one sister, Lupe Rowell of Kansas City, MO and six grandchildren, Gage Holtwick, Jadynne Holtwick, Brynne Holtwick, Bryson Sanders, Bailey Sanders and Max Ortiz.
