Ian Michael Van Horn, 22, of Raymore, MO passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at Belton Regional Medical Center in Belton, MO. Memorial Services were held on Friday, September 22, 2023 at the First Baptist Church  in Peculiar, MO.

Ian was born June 17, 2001 to Michael and Michelle (Hubbard) Van Horn in Roswell, New Mexico. Ian graduated from Missouri State University in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science (cum laude) and a minor in English. He was awarded Outstanding Delegate representing Syria in the Council of Arab Environmental Affairs for the Great Plains Model Arab League.

Ian was a 2019 graduate from Raymore-Peculiar High School. At Ray-Pec, he was an active participant in Theater and Forensics, where he held many roles and won multiple awards, including qualifying for the National Forensics and Debate tournament in Humorous Interpretation.

Ian was passionate about movies, music, Star Wars, Formula 1 Racing, and politics. He enjoyed video games, Legos, writing, reading, and playing Dungeons and Dragons, as well as, many other hobbies. He also loved spending time with family, friends, and his pets.

Ian is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Herbert L. Hubbard, and great-grandparents. He is survived by his parents; sister, Natalie Van Horn; grandparents, Joe and Lonna (Gooden) Van Horn and Lou (Gary) Hubbard; as well as, aunts, uncles, great-aunts and uncles, cousins, and many beloved friends.
