Obituary

Hugh Edward Tiedeman, 82, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Peculiar, Missouri with visitation from 10:00-11:00. Burial will be in Wills Cemetery, Peculiar, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church Youth Center, Peculiar.

Hugh was born May 4, 1932 in Neosho, Missouri, the son of Edward Albert and Opal Lillie (Jennings) Tiedeman. He married Marilyn Mae Garland on January 22, 1955 in West Plains, Missouri. He was a 1949 graduate of Cabool High School. Hugh was a U.S. Air Force Korean War veteran.

Hugh had lived in Rolla, Missouri, where he owned and operated a dry cleaner. He moved to Cleveland, Missouri in 1957 and to Harrisonville in 1961. He worked for a dry cleaner in Grandview, Missouri before going to work for Wiley Trash Service as a truck driver in 1959. Hugh was a member of the First Baptist Church in Peculiar.

Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marilyn on February 24, 2008, two sons, Scott Schipper and Bob Schipper, five brothers, Max, Bill, Dean, Wayne and Jim Tiedeman, a sister, Betty Cauthon, a son-in-law, Ken Berryman, and a grandson, Keith Cooper. He is survived by one son, Mike Tiedeman, Harrisonville, Missouri; five daughters, Ruth Ann Davis (Rick), Urich, Missouri, Jeanie Nichols (Terry), and Carol Berryman, both of Harrisonville, Phyllis Pipkin (Steve), Buffalo, Missouri, Lisa Mitchell (Rick), Olathe, Kansas; one brother Lee Tiedeman (Pat), Harrisonville; one sister, Edwina Ritter (Bud), Harrisonville; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; numerous nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends.
