Howard Gibson, Jr., aged 71, passed away on October 23, 2023, in Kansas City, MO. The celebration of Howard's life took place during funeral services on Monday, October 30, 2023, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO. Interment, with military honors, in Everett Cemetery,  Archie, MO.

Howard was born on May 23, 1952, in Bloomington, IL, to Howard Gibson and Lois (Phelps) Gibson. Howard's life journey was marked by resilience and dedication. Despite his father's absence due to an early passing, Howard was lovingly raised by his mother and stepfather, John Phelps, in the Kansas City, MO area. Following his high school years, Howard embarked on a remarkable career with the US Army, serving in various locations, including South Korea; Ft. Riley, KS; Germany; and Ft. Carson, Colorado. His military service spanned until 1992 when he retired, later settling in Harrisonville, MO. His pursuit of knowledge led to the attainment of an Associate's degree in Auto Repair, a skill that would open the doors to his second career as an auto mechanic.

On March 15, 1974, Howard married Haeng Hwa (Peggy) Noh, and their union blessed them with three wonderful children: Maria, Howard, and Brandy. Family was the cornerstone of Howard's life, and he cherished his role as a father and grandfather. He reveled in quality time with his loved ones, an enduring passion that will forever define his legacy.

In the circle of life, Howard is preceded in death by his father, Howard Gibson; and his parents, Lois and John Phelps. He also leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of his siblings: Sherman, Loren, Troy, Rosemary, Joe, Margie, Raymond, Bill, and Tina. Howard is survived by his beloved wife, Haeng Hwa (Peggy) Gibson, who stood by his side throughout their remarkable journey, and his children: Maria Shearer (Mike), Brandy Lalk (Joe), and Howard Gibson (Chrissy), carry forward his legacy. His adoration extends to his grandchildren: Anthony Wickline, Nick Wickline, Austin Reynolds, Josh Wickline, Kailee Reynolds, and Gabrielle Gibson.
