Obituary
Homer L. Swezy, 86, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017. A service of remembrance was held Thursday, June 29th at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian, MO with private graveside in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian.
Homer was born November 12, 1930 near Pleasant Gap, MO to Walter F. and Clara M. Swezy. He enlisted into the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and worked as a union carpenter until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of Carpenter's Local Union # 777 since 1955, Quail Unlimited, and Sierra Club. Homer was an avid gardener, a conservationist, and passionate about prairie grass restoration.
Homer was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Imogene M. Swezy and five siblings, Clyde, Elmer, David, Paul, and Ethel. Survivors include his three children, Vicki Miles, Jeff (Carol) Swezy, and Lynn (Bob) Leath; three grandchildren, Clint Miles, Sara and Rachel Swezy, and two great grandchildren, Gabriel and Hailey Miles.
