Helen Imogene Hays, 76, formerly of Harrisonville, MO, died Monday, March 10, 2008 at Elmhaven West Nursing Home in Parsons, KS, where she had resided since August, 2007. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 13, 2008 at the Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville with visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville. The family suggests memorials to the VFW Post 4409 Ladies Auxiliary in Harrisonville.


Mrs. Hays was born May 12, 1931 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Vincent "Turk" and Helen (Rudd) Terrell. She married Robert W. "Bob" Hays on February 2, 1957. He preceded her in death on October 4, 1991.

Mrs. Hays worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone in Kansas City, MO before moving to Harrisonville. She worked for Plaza Savings and Loan until moving to Clinton, MO, where she was the secretary to the high school counselor. Upon retirement, Mrs. Hays and her husband moved back to Harrisonville. She was a member of the Harrisonville VFW women's auxiliary for 41 years.


Mrs. Hays is survived by one son, Dennis Hays and his wife, Teresa and one grandson, Payton, all of Parsons, KS and several nieces and nephews.
