Helen Jane Hayes, 93, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Monday, August 03, 2015 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, with visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Abiding Love Baptist Church Building Fund, 302 East Pearl Street, Harrisonville, MO 64701.

Helen was born April 26, 1922 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, the daughter of George W. and Stella Serena (Martin) Osborne. She married Theodore "Hamilton" Hayes on February 13, 1937 in Harrisonville. She had lived in Pleasant Hill, Missouri before moving to Harrisonville and was a lifelong Cass County resident.

Helen worked for AVON as an order processor in their corporate office in Kansas City, Missouri, for 15 years before retiring in 1979. She was a member of Abiding Love Baptist Church, and she wrote poetry and many stories.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hamilton, and one son, Bill. She is survived by one son, Ted Hayes, Harrisonville, Missouri; two daughters, Karen Freeman, Birmingham, Alabama and Helen Mosley, Harrisonville, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren, and 42 great-great-grandchildren.
