Helen Inez Edwards, 94, Hermitage, MO, died Thursday, April 12, 2018 in Hermitage. Graveside services were held Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville with a gathering of family and friends at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville before going to the cemetery.

Helen was born September 21, 1923 in Garden City, Missouri to John Theodore and Edna Mae (Cox) Sloan. She was a member of the Belton Assembly of God Church, where in her younger years she was active in the Women's Ministries and a Sunday School Teacher. Helen had a great sense of humor and made an amazing cherry pie.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry R. Edwards; son, Fred L. Zumalt, Jr; two brothers, Frank and Spoffard Sloan; four sisters, Oleta Price, Hazel Satterfield, Dorothy Phillips and Betty Jo Sulser; and son-in-law, Charles Ellis. She is survived by two sons, Steven Zumalt, Sr (Donna Jo) of Kansas City, Missouri and Harry R. Edwards II of Belton, Missouri; daughter, Sandra Ellis of Pittsburg, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Linda Zumalt of Warsaw, Missouri; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extend family.
