Harry Lee Adams, 89, Liberty, MO died Monday, September 20, 2010 at Liberty Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Freeman Presbyterian Church in Freeman, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Harry was born November 29, 1920 in Freeman, MO, the son of Richard Sterling and Marie (Duncan) Adams and was a 1938 graduate of Freeman High School. He served in the U. S. Coast Guard in WWII and the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He accepted Christ as the age of 12 at the Freeman Presbyterian Church.
Harry married Dorothy Schuman on November 1, 1947 and resided in Kansas City, KS until 1976 when he returned to Freeman. In 1990 Harry moved to the Kansas City, MO area. Harry was a Personnel Supervisor for the Postal Service for 34 years before his retirement. He was a member of the St. Luke Presbyterian Church in Kansas City, MO.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dorothy on February 14, 2009, one brother, Richard "Doc" and one sister, Jane Polson. He is survived by two daughters, Marilyn Massard, Highlands Ranch, CO and Marsha Clapp, Brazoria, TX; one son, Richard Adams, Liberty, MO; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
