Harold Lyman Walters, 99, Harrisonville, MO, died Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at Cass Medical Center, Harrisonville. Funeral services 10:30 AM Saturday, April 12 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville. Visitation 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, April 11 at the chapel. Burial in Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, MO. Contributions to Grand River Baptist Church, Freeman, MO.
Harold was born August 13, 1908 in Rosalia, KS, the son of Delbert Joshua and Belle (O'Neal) Walters. He married Anna Mae Montee on June 19, 1939.
Harold came to Greenwood, MO from the Auburn, Nebraska area at the age of 17 with his dad in a covered wagon. In 1941 he bought a farm between Archie and Drexel, MO, where he lived until moving to Harrisonville in 1981. He was a member of the Greenwood Baptist Church.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Dana Calvert. He is survived by his wife, Anna Walters, of the home; one daughter, Beverly Mabary and her husband, John, Freeman, MO; two grandchildren, Debbie Thompson and her husband, Ron, and Donald Mabary and his wife, Pat, and eight great-grandchildren, Ryan Thompson, Rachel Thompson, Kelsey Thompson, Sara Calvert, Jennifer Calvert, Logan Mabary, Wyatt Mabary and Brady Mabary.
