Harold Harper, 92, Peculiar, MO, died Monday, October 6, 2008 at his home in Peculiar. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, October 10, 2008 at the Cornerstone Church in Peculiar with visitation from 1:00-2:00 PM Friday at the church. Burial will be in Wills Cemetery, Peculiar. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church, Peculiar.
Harold was born September 6, 1916 in Harrisonville, MO, the son of William Henry and Yetta (Schraw) Harper. He married Gladys Maurine Weeks on April 1, 1944 in Kansas City, KS.
Harold had lived in Kansas City, Seattle, WA and Kansas City before moving to Peculiar in 1966. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Peculiar. He was an alderman for 13 years in Peculiar and was a member of the Peculiar Lions Club and the Peculiar VFW. Harold had worked at Bendix for over 13 years, retiring as a foreman. He was a WWII Army veteran.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Gladys, of the home and many nieces and nephews.
