Grace Clariece Carlson, 86, Kansas City, Missouri, formerly of Cleveland, Missouri, died Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Kingswood Senior Living in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2015 at the West Line Christian Church in Cleveland, Missouri with visitation from 1:00-2:00. Burial will be in Glenwild Cemetery, Cleveland. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Line Christian Church Memorial Fund.
Clariece was born February 13, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Cecil and Grace (Devine) Sims. She was a 1946 graduate of Louisburg, Kansas High School. Clariece was a lifelong Cass County, Missouri resident. She married Paul Wilfred Carlson on August 28, 1948 on the family farm in West Line, Missouri. Clariece helped run the family farm, raised the children, and was an AVON representative for 10 years. She was a member of the West Line Christian Church, West Line Community Club and had been a 4-H leader.
Clariece was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Robert Sims, her husband, Paul on June 23, 2008, and a daughter, Janet Carlson Koch on March 15, 2012. She is survived by one son, Rex Carlson, Cleveland, Missouri; two daughters, Sherran Wooden, Kansas City, Missouri and Marilyn Carlson, Gilbert, Arizona; one brother, Malcolm Sims, and one sister, Sandra Patterson, both of Lee's Summit, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson.
