Goldie Mae (Nelson) Saathoff, 83, Adrian, MO, died Monday, November 7, 2016 at Adrian Manor. Graveside inurnment services were held Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Sharon Cemetery in Drexel, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Sharon Cemetery or Crescent Hill Cemetery.
Goldie was born July 10, 1933 in Drexel, Missouri, the daughter of James and Bernice (Twyman) Nelson. She was a Christian and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She lived all her life, except four years, on a farm in the Drexel-Adrian area.
She graduated from Adrian High School in 1951. On August 28, 1954, she married Rogers Saathoff and they became parents of four children: Garry Dean, Randy Paul, Ronda Carol, and Gayle Annette. She was the accountant for the Saathoff Farms business from 1956 until the time of her death. She also was employed as an income tax practitioner for many years. She was affiliated with 4-H as a member and leader for many years. She was also a member of the Community Club, DAR, and Adrian Area Historical Society, and when health permitted, she enjoyed square dancing.
Goldie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rogers, a sister, Doris Sherman, and a brother, Don Nelson. She is survived by her children, Garry Saathoff, Randy Saathoff (Juan Aldama), Ronda Horner (Mike), all of Adrian, Missouri, and Gayle Warden (Danny), Butler, Missouri; 5 grandchildren, Daniel Horner, Michaella Nisely (Marques), Dwayne Warden (Megan), Bryan Warden (Raychel), Annette Taylor (Devan; 4 great-grandchildren, Breckin and Liam Nisely, Gavin Taylor, and Everly Warden; one brother, Edwin Nelson; brothers-and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
