Gladys Blanche Turner, 71, of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services were held on Friday, February 14, 2020 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, MO.

Gladys was born on August 7, 1948 to Benjamin Harry and Eva Nina (Culbertson) Avey in Pleasanton, Kansas. She grew up in Pleasanton, later moving to Archie, Missouri and finally settling in Harrisonville, Missouri. She married Bert Eugene Turner on August 21, 1992 in Dunlap Park in Pleasanton, Kansas, they enjoyed 22 years of marriage before his passing on May 13, 2015. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Team in Belton and a Baptist.

Gladys is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bert; her brother, Benny Avey; and her sisters: Mae Boyd, Eva Kelly, and Thelma Eaves. She is survived by her twin sister, Goldie (Richard) Strader; her brother, Carl Avey; her nieces: Jennifer (Dan) Riley, Gennie (Todd) Livingston, and Kathy (Wayne) Crusha; her nephew, Richard L. Strader; several other nieces and nephews; her two step-sons: Robert (Lynn) Turner and Travis (Shelly) Turner; 4 step-grandchildren; and 6 step-great-grandchildren.
