Obituary

Geraldine (Gerry) Noell Foote, 82, of Archie, Missouri died peacefully while surrounded by her family on March 10, 2013 at the Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Archie. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that contributions be made to the Archie United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.

Gerry was born on March 13, 1930 on a farm east of Archie, the youngest daughter of George Dudley Noell and Henrietta Clark Noell. She graduated as the Salutatorian of the class of 1948 from Archie High School then attended Central Missouri State University. She lived in Archie her whole life.

Gerry married Donald Foote and together they had two daughters. She was so proud of her daughters and their families, especially her three grandchildren. Gerry touched every person she met. She was a strong independent woman. She was always available to support her family and friends. One could only hope to accomplish a life legacy similar to Gerry's. She loved to work. She worked at Buerge Brothers Grain Company for 17 years, Archie State Bank for 10 years, Buerge Brothers Real Estate for 4 years and West Central Seed for 6 years all in Archie.

Gerry loved her church and her church family. She became a member of the Archie United Methodist Church in July of 1945. She had been the pianist and organist at the church since 1955. She was active in the United Methodist Women and a member of countless church committees throughout her life. In addition to her work through church, Gerry was an avid volunteer. She had served as a member of the Archie Senior Housing board of Directors and the Archie Alumni Committee. She was a gifted pianist. She played the piano for many weddings and funerals, accompanied musicals performed at Archie High School and loved playing the piano at the area nursing homes. She could play any song; all she had to do was hear it. She thoroughly enjoyed working in the gift shop at the Cass Regional Medical Center.

Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, a sister in infancy, her sister Allene Atkinson, her brother, Dudley Noell and a niece, Valeta Noell Baxter. She is survived by two daughters, Jeannette Lea Gwinn and husband, David of Lone Jack, Missouri and Cindy Francene Drury and husband, Rick of Archie, Missouri; her three grandchildren, Aaron Gwinn, Doug Drury and Molly Drury; three sister-like cousins; three nieces; two nephews; other relatives and a multitude of friends.
