Gerald J. Roberts, 83, Harrisonville, MO, died Thursday, July 12, 2018 in Harrisonville. Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.  Masonic services, under the direction of Cass Lodge #147 were held Tuesday evening at the Atkinson Funeral Home.  Contributions may be made to the Harrisonville First Baptist Church or The Shriner Hospital for Children.

Gerald was born September 3, 1934 in Wichita, KS, the son of Grady W. and Reva (Walters) Roberts. He married Karen Deatrick on October 4, 1953 in Wichita, KS. Gerald had lived in Carrollton, MO before moving to Harrisonville in 1972. He had worked for ARCO/Sinclair Pipeline as a locator for 39 years before retiring in 2002.

Gerald was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harrisonville, Harrisonville Optimist Club, member and past Master and past Secretary of Cass Masonic Lodge No. 147 AF&AM, Ararat Shrine, Kansas City, MO, member and past Patron of Bayard Chapter No. 179, Order of Eastern Star, and member of White Shrine of Jerusalem.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Ruby and Bonnie, one brother, Harold, and one daughter, Julia Toler. He is survived by his wife, Karen, of the home; two sons, Raymond Roberts (Connie), Coweta, OK and Glenn Roberts, Overland Park, KS; three daughters, Rachelle Reynolds (Myron), Drexel, MO, Jennifer King (Lewis), Garden City, MO, and Lynette Lambert (Kenney), Kansas City, KS; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and many step-grandchildren.
