Georgia Marie Hayes, 49, Harrisonville, MO, died Saturday, December 29, 2007 at her home. Funeral services 11:00 AM Thursday, January 3, 2008 at the Cornerstone Community Church, Harrisonville. Burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Visitation 6:00-7:30 PM Wednesday, January 2 at the church. Contributions may be made to the church building fund or to Crossroads Hospice.
Georgia was born April 18, 1958 at Warner Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. Georgia was a 1976 graduate of Hillsboro, MO High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the College of the Ozarks in 1985. Georgia was a retired Major in the U. S. Army. She attended the U. S. Army Command and General Staff College.
Georgia had lived in Raytown, MO and Jefferson City, MO before moving to Harrisonville in 1988. Georgia worked for the Harrisonville Cass RIX Schools for 10 years, retiring in 2003 as a technology coordinator. She was a charter member of the Cornerstone Community Church in Harrisonville. She was a past member of the Missouri National Education association and the Missouri National Guard Association.
Georgia is survived by her husband, Donald R. Hayes and her daughter, Meckenzie M. Hayes, both of the home and Meckenzie's fiancé, Shaun Owen; three sisters, Ramona Hayes, Farmington, West Virginia, Ursula Kthiri, Farmington, MO and Vanessa Harrison, Union, MO; one half-sister, Karin Stein, Trinity, AL; her father, Marvin E. Huskey, Beaufort, MO and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Betty Faye Hayes, Harrisonville, MO.
