Geneva Morene Friend, 85, Harrisonville, MO, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville.  Funeral services were held Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.  The burial was at Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.

Geneva was born November 10, 1933 in Sweet Springs, MO, a daughter of John Edward and Fleeta Merl (Hensley) Mullins. She grew up on a dairy farm near Windsor, Mo and was a 1951 graduate of Windsor High School.  She married Benona "Ben" Friend, Sr. on October 31, 1958.  The family lived in Merriam, KS before moving to Freeman, MO in 1973.  Geneva worked as a dispatcher for Cartwright Van Lines in Grandview, MO 28 years before her retirement. She was a member of the Harrisonville Church Of The Nazarene.

Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, four sons, Larry, Gary, Rex, and Mike, two brothers, Paul and Ernest Mullins, a grandson, and two great-granddaughters.  She is survived by her husband, Benona, "Ben", Friend, of the home, two sons, Benona "Ben" Friend Jr., Burlson, TX, and Ronald Friend,  Garden City, MO; a sister Clara Marie Davidson, Leawood, KS; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.
