Gary A. Whitney, 72, of Adrian, Missouri passed away Friday, June 14, 2019 in Archie, MO.  Cremation with a memorial service to be held at a later date.

Gary was born May 16, 1947 in Kansas City, MO, a son of Walton C. and Ruby L. (Switzer) Whitney.  Gary was a 1965 graduate of SE High School in Kansas City, MO and attended the Kansas City Art Institute.  Gary worked as an illustrator/commercial artist.

Gary was an Eagle Scout and member of Troop 27 in Kansas City, and was also a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.  He had lived in Kansas City before moving to Adrian in 1994.  Gary was a U. S. Air Force veteran.

Gary was preceded in death by his father, Walton Whitney.  He is survived by his mother, Ruby Whitney, Belton, MO; one son, David "Chris" Whitney, Parker, CO; one daughter, Kelly A. Whitney-Langst, Petaluma, CA; one brother, David Whitney, Broken Arrow, OK, and four grandchildren.
