Gail Garnet Kroenke, D.V.M., 81, of Harrisonville, Missouri, died Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Harrisonville. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, July 29 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.
Gail was born March 6, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Garnet and Martha (Bronaugh) Kroenke. He was a 1950 graduate of Raytown High School and was a 1957 graduate of the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri, with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Gail married Courtney "Cricket" Hunt on June 29, 1957; they were married for 56 years.
Gail worked as a veterinarian in Harrisonville for 53 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harrisonville and was a member of the American Veterinary Medicine Association (AVMA). He enjoyed time with his family and attending sporting events.
Gail was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Cricket, of the home; one daughter, Martha Hammons and her husband, Randy, Hawley, Texas and their son, Tyler; son, Ron Kroenke and his wife, Robin, Harrisonville, Missouri and their children, Sydney and Stuart; son, Bill Kroenke, Pittsburg, Kansas and his son, Kaleb, and one sister, Marilyn Scherer of Centerview, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Cass Regional Medical Center Foundation, 2800 E. Rock Haven Road, Harrisonville, MO 64701.
