Frederic "Fred" Chester Dillon, 93, of Freeman, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Medicalodge of Butler in Butler, Missouri. A graveside service was held on Monday, May 18, 2020 at the Freeman Cemetery in Freeman, Missouri.
Fred was born on June 13, 1926 in North Bend, Oregon, a son of Samuel Chester and Amna Elizabeth (Godard) Dillon. He served in the United States Army as a medic during the Korean conflict, where he was honorably discharged after being wounded. Fred went on to obtain his Master's degree in education, working for Cass-Midway Schools in Cleveland, Missouri and retiring in 1975. During his time at Cass-Midway, he met his wife, Nancy Smith, they were married on May 22, 1965 at the Freeman Baptist Church. They enjoyed 48 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on December 3, 2013. Fred was a member of the Freeman Baptist Church.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nancy; his brother, Franklin Dillon; and his sister, Vivian Tusing. He is survived by his daughter, Louise Irvin of Freeman, MO and 2 grandchildren: Mykeillah Dillon and Izac Irvin.
