Fred W. Trent, 64, of Overland Park, KS, died Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2010 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville with visitation from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 at the chapel. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Children's Mercy Hospital, P.O. Box 219956, Kansas City, MO 64121 or to the Harrisonville Public School Foundation, P.O. Box 1000, Harrisonville, MO 64701.

Fred was born July 10, 1945 in Kansas City, MO, the son of Cleo DeLong and Wanda Mae (Hall) Trent. He grew up in Harrisonville, MO and moved to Kansas City and later to Overland Park, KS. He was a 1963 graduate of Harrisonville High School and received a journalism degree from the University of Missouri, Columbia. Fred was a Vietnam Navy veteran.

Fred owned Lundmark Advertising and Design in Kansas City, MO where he worked from 1982 until retiring in 2007. He was a member of the Children's Mercy Hospital Foundation board. Fred was an avid fisherman and hunter and spent a lot of time at Truman Lake fishing and entering bass tournaments.

He is survived by one daughter, Nicole Trent, Alton, IL; two brothers, Rob Trent, Glendale, AZ and Richard DeLong, Lafayette, LA; two sisters, Janet Risner, Lee's Summit, MO and Kathy Spangler, Peculiar, MO and five nieces and nephews.
