Fred W. Setser, 82, Belton, MO, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at his home. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville, MO, officiated by Rev. Don Butterfield, Belton Assembly of God, Belton, MO. Casket bearers were Robert Lightle, Robert Lightle, II, Christopher Lightle, Kevin Lightle, Reid Herzog and Jason Williams. Burial was in Belton Memorial Cemetery, Belton, MO.
Fred was born November 10, 1924 in Corbin, Kentucky, the son of Floyd and Mary Mae (Roarke) Setser. Fred married Dorothy Mae Marquis on May 6, 1950 in Kansas City, MO. He had lived in Belton for over 50 years.
Fred was a WWII Navy veteran. He worked for Southwestern Bell as a switching technician, retiring in October, 1988. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Belton. Fred loved spending time with his family.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Richard Warren Setser and one sister, Beulah Agnes Sullivan. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of the home; three sons, David Alan Setser and his wife, Lanus, Peculiar, MO, Michael Wayne Setser and his wife, Patricia, Raymore, MO and Michael Anthony Setser, Harrisonville, MO; two daughters, Teresa Anne Lightle and her husband, Robert, Peculiar, MO and Pamela Gail Herzog and her husband, Reid, Jones, OK; one brother, Otis Silver Setser, Ohio; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
