Franklin "Bo" Deotis Bobo, 69, Harrisonville, MO, died Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Freeman Baptist Church in Freeman, MO. Burial will be in Freeman Cemetery, Freeman. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 15 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Freeman Baptist Church.
Bo was born February 2, 1943 in Cullman, Alabama, the son of Deotis and Virginia (Daugherty) Bobo. He graduated from Flint Northern High School in Flint, MI. He married Edith L. Johnson on February 16, 1964 in Osborne, KS. He was a U. S. Air Force Veteran.
In high school Bo played baseball and football. His 1960 Flint Northern football team was inducted into the Greater Flint Area Sports Hall of Fame in 2011. He loved to watch his children and grandchildren play sports and enjoyed Harrisonville Wildcat football.
Bo was a member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He worked in heavy construction, commercial framing and residential remodeling until he retired in 2001. He was a member of Freeman Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, a song leader and helped with the jail ministry. He also went on a mission trip to Brazil in 2004.
Bo was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Edith Bobo, of the home; three daughters, Tammy Crook, Pamela Birchfield and husband, William, and Linda Wise, all of Harrisonville, MO; his mother, Virginia Bobo, Fenton, MI; two brothers, Dale Bobo, Linden, MI and Terry Bobo, Jacksonville, FL, one sister, Cheryl Clark, Fenton, MI; 9 grandchildren, Amanda, Jessica, Joshua, Dakota, Jacob, Kayla, Robert, Andrew and Franklin; 4 great-grandchildren, Haleigh, Nathanial, Christian and Annabella, and many other relatives and friends.
