Frances M. Ulmer, 87, of Harrisonville, MO passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville, MO. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri. Interment in Wills Cemetery, Peculiar, MO.

Frances was born on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1935 in Kansas City, MO, to Cecil and Lola Bell (Heddleston) Glaze. She was a child of the Great Depression and although her family was poor, her father always had work. She lived in Kansas City until World War II when railroad work took her family to Albuquerque, NM, and later Winslow, AZ, she then moved back to Kansas City with her family in the late 1940's. She attended and graduated from Westport High School in Kansas City, MO, and during high school, she met the love of her life, George Ulmer. They were married on November 29, 1952; and to this union, they had two children: a son, George William Jr. and a daughter, Cynthia Susan.

In 1972, she and Dad built a house just south of Harrisonville. She was a resident of rural Harrisonville for last 50 years of her life. She had a long employment career in the health care field, first with Baptist Memorial Hospital of Kansas City and then at Cass Regional Hospital in Harrisonville. She retired in 1992 from Cass Regional Hospital.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents, and her two brothers: John and Joseph Glaze. She was the last of her original family. She has left behind her husband of 69 years, George W. Ulmer Sr., of Warsaw, MO; her son, George William Ulmer, Jr. and his wife, Kathleen, of Raymore, MO; her daughter, Cynthia (Ulmer) Osburn and her husband, Lyle, of Raymore, MO; 4 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
