Obituary

Frances Irene Hannah, 94, of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, just days shy of her 95th birthday, at her home surrounded by her children. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO. Following the service, Frances was laid to rest at Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville, MO. The family requests that donations be made to CMA - Christian Motorcycle Association.

Born on March 22, 1931, in Freeman, MO, to John Franklin and Dora (Bearce) Anderson, she lived a life filled with love, hard work, and dedication to her family and community. On September 29, 1950, she married the love of her life, Russell Hannah. In 1972, together they started R L Hannah & Sons Trucking, where she stayed active in the business until her recent illness.

Frances loved nature. She loved birds, flowers, trees, and had a large rose garden that each rose was a picture of beauty. She loved feeding the birds and watching them; each was unique in her eyes. Frances taught Sunday School and was the pianist many years at church. She taught Missionettes in the church and went through the Honor System to become an Honor Star herself, which took many steps and dedication to achieve. She read her Bible through many times and loved to spend time in God's word.

Frances had an infectious smile that would light up any room she was in. Regardless of what she might have been going through herself, you would never have known it because of the light she would bring by being present. She loved people and treated them with such respect. Many times, she would be somewhere and strangers would say - "You look like such an angel." She had God's love and it shined.

Frances was a true woman of character. Proverbs 31:25-28 reflects that saying, "Strength and honour are her clothing. She openeth her mouth with wisdom, and in her tongue is the law of kindness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed." Her children call themselves blessed for having a Mother that unconditionally loved them and she will be greatly missed. Reflecting on 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8: "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." which describes our Mother's love - something we will always treasure and she was and is a real treasure. "Store your treasures in heaven... Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be." (Matthew 6:20)

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell Hannah; her infant son, David Hannah; her daughters: Carolyn Morgan and Linda "Dian" Hessefort; and her grandsons: David Green, Rickey Green, and Delby Hannah, Jr. She is survived by her children: Russell "Leroy" Hannah, Delbert Lee Hannah (Karen - her favorite daughter-in-law), and Sharon Green (Tim); her granddaughter, Vicki Green, who was a faithful caretaker in her illness; her sisters: Mary Wilbanks and Ruth Ann Roberts; 6 remaining grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She loved each one and called each one by name in her prayers.
