Obituary

Frances Elzady Bass, 98, Pleasant Hill, Missouri, died Monday, July 25, 2016 in Springdale, Arkansas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 29 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri, with burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Atkinson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Abiding Love Baptist Church Building Fund.

Frances was born April 8, 1918 in Versailles, Missouri, the daughter of Elza Walton and Minnie Asberene (Allen) Marriott. She married Amos Thomas Bass on November 9, 1935. Frances was a member of Abiding Love Baptist Church of Harrisonville Missouri.

Frances grew up in Versailles, Missouri and moved to Harrisonville, Missouri in 1950 with her husband Amos and family. Frances and Amos retired in 1978 and moved to Stockton, Missouri where they loved to fish. After her husband's death in 1991, she moved back to Harrisonville where she remained until September of 2015. After her declining health, she lived out her days with her children. Family meant everything to her. She loved making quilts for her family and friends. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren! This special lady will be greatly missed by all her family and everyone who knew her.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Amos, one son, Ronald Bass, two daughters, Pansy Cantrell and Laverne Copeland, two sisters, Wanda Anderson and Mildred Hodges, two brothers, Gilbert Marriott and Walton Marriott. She is survived by two sons, Larry Bass and wife, Sue, Pleasant Hill, Missouri and Tom Bass and wife, Carla, Jefferson, Texas; three daughters, Asberene Jones, Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Barbara Lape and husband, Dave, Memphis, Tennessee, and Reta Bolinger and husband, Richard, Springdale, Arkansas; 29 grandchildren; numerous great, great-great, and great-great-great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
