Floyd Nelson Wright, 79, Peculiar, Missouri, died Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with visitation from 1:00-2:00. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery in Peculiar. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association or Heartland Hospice.

Floyd was born October 18, 1934 in Lyndon, Kansas, the son of Earnest and Opal (Tyson) Wright. He married Princilla Hoepker on June 3, 1956. Floyd was a U. S. Army veteran. He was a well-respected crane operator in the Kansas City, Missouri area and was a member of Local #101, Hoisting and Portable Engineers. Floyd was an avid fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Leona Bayless and one son, Rick N. Wright in 1990. He is survived by his wife, Princilla, of the home; two sons, Barry W. Wright and Robert K. Wright, both of Peculiar, Missouri; one daughter, Lara Beard and her husband, Ed, Holden, Missouri; 3 grandchildren, Kevin W. Wright, Seth E. Beard and Jesse N. Wright; 1 great-grandchild, Chandler W. Wright; and his four-legged faithful companion,
Floyd, Jr.
