Florence Ellen Bell, 94, Harrisonville, MO, died Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2011 at the Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Florence was born June 10, 1916 in Aldine, NE, the daughter of Fred C. and Adella (Keimig) Helmick. She was a lifelong resident of Harrisonville. On February 14, 1940, she married Ewing Bell. They owned a family farm which they operated until retiring.

Florence was a member of the Harrisonville First Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was a member of the Union Hall Extension Club. She also actively participated in the Wal-Center 4-H Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years, Ewing and brothers, Fred, John, Robert and Ralph Helmick. She is survived by two sons, Charles Allan Bell and wife, Diane, Pleasant Hill, MO and Eugene E. Bell and wife, Sharon, Harrisonville, MO; one daughter, Carolyn Moreland and husband, Kyle, Overland Park, KS; one sister, Alberta Simon, Cleveland, MO; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
