Finley Edgar Greer, 92, Archie, MO, died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at Bates County Memorial Hospital, Butler, MO. Funeral services 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at the Victory Assembly of God, Adrian, MO. Visitation 6:00-8:00 PM Monday, March 24 at the Atkinson Chapel, Adrian. Burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian. Contributions to Victory Assembly of God.

Finley was the 8th of 10 children born to Finley Edgar and Sara Proctor Greer, born in Ray County in 1916. On March 25, 1937, he married Ruby Lee and to this union 5 children were born. As a young man, he went to work for the coal mines where he worked for 15 years. He also farmed for 27 years, retiring at the age of 60. He was born and raised in Orrick, MO. In 1955, he bought a farm in Archie, MO where he moved his family. He lived there until his death. He was a faithful member of the Victory Assembly of God in Adrian, MO where he loved his church family and they loved him.

Finley loved his children, grandkids, great-grandkids, and great great- grandkids. He enjoyed telling stories and was a big jokester. Up until his death, he enjoyed taking people to McDonald's. He also loved to travel, garden and ride his tractor.

Finley was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years of marriage; one daughter, Anna Jean Bruce; a son, Delbert Greer; a grandson, two brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his children, Robert Greer and wife, Betty, of Adrian, MO, Beverly Schalk and husband, Harold, of Holden, MO and Richard Greer of Archie, MO; one brother, Norman Greer of Higginsville, MO; 11 grandkids, 24 great- grandkids and 2 great great-grandkids. Finley went to receive the greatest gift that God has given mankind, Eternal Life.
