Obituary

Fannie V. Sanders, 90, of Overland Park, KS, formerly of Harrisonville, MO, passed away Friday, October 30, 2020 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.  Graveside services were held  Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, MO.  Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church, Harrisonville, MO.

Fannie was born July 25, 1930 in Norfork, AR to Thomas and Nancy (Simpson) Lackey. She was a graduate of Paseo High School in Kansas City, MO. Fannie married Cecil Albert Sanders on March 30, 1951 and was a resident of; Ann Arbor, MI for 5 years, Greenwood IN for 2 years, Raytown, MO for 27 years, Harrisonville, MO for 25 years, and Overland Park, KS for the last 10 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed her time in the Holiday Ramblers RV club, Hoot & Holler Square Dance club, and the Hallmark Collectors Club. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, MO.

Fannie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Cecil Albert Sanders, on August 30, 2010; their daughter Mary V Oxley; sister Mary Lee Nelson; brothers Cadamus Lackey and Jack Lackey. She is survived by her sons: William A. Sanders of Harrisonville, MO; Thomas A. Sanders, Grandview, MO; daughter, Rebecca V. Crandall of Cleveland, MO; brother, Lynn Lackey of Olathe, KS; four sisters: Corky McGinnis of Lee's Summit, MO; Vista Bowers of Stillwel, KS; Joan Bake of Oak Grove, MO; and Gwen Hall of Norfork, AR; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
