Everett Eugene Zimmerman, 67, of Drexel, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, MO. Interment in the Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, MO.
Everett was born on November 23, 1956, in Kansas City, MO, to Carl Eugene and Lillie Marie (Prettyman) Zimmerman. Growing up in West Line, MO, Everett attended Cass Midway High School, where he completed his education and obtained his high school diploma. Following his graduation, he courageously served his country for six years in the United States Marine Corps, showing unwavering loyalty and dedication to his country. After his service to his country, Everett embarked on a successful career with Wal-Mart, where he proved his exceptional skills and commitment. Over the course of more than two decades, he held various roles within the company, ultimately retiring from Wal-Mart.
Outside of his professional life, Everett was a member of Freeman Baptist Church. Everett was particularly fond of game shows and was a Jeopardy whiz, answering many of the questions along with the competitors. Although, he was more of a "bookworm," he would occasionally take a break to enjoy the tranquility of fishing and always enjoyed time with his family. He will forever be missed but will live on in the hearts and memories of all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law, George Wiley and Michael Sharp. He is survived by his brother, Robert (Mary Bohl) Zimmerman; his 3 sisters: Neola Zimmerman, WinnAdean Wiley, and Gwenda Sharp; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
