Evelyn Jane Wyatt, 98, Butler, MO died Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Willow Lane Nursing Center in Butler. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 24, 2010 at the Atkinson Chapel in Adrian, MO with visitation from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the chapel. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Medford Cemetery in Holden, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice of Butler, 612 West Fort Scott Street, Butler, MO 64730.
Evelyn was born June 10, 1912 at Barnes City, IA the daughter of Charles and Ollie (Gott) Wymore. Evelyn was raised on a farm near Barnes City and went to elementary school in that area. She was a farm wife and worked at an overall factory in New Sharon, IA in the 1950s.
On March 20, 1932, Evelyn married Russell E. Wyatt. They raised three children, Chuck, Barbara and Russell Dean. Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an excellent bowler and received many high game and high series awards. She enjoyed playing cards, especially spades and pinochle. Most of all, she enjoyed visiting with family members.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Lucy Wymore and Minnie Moore, her husband, Russell E. Wyatt and one son, Russell Dean Wyatt. She is survived by one son, Chuck Wyatt (Murldene) of Urich, MO; one daughter, Barbara Stansbury of Bettendorff, IA and a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Wyatt of Oskaloosa, IA; 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
