Evelyn Carol (Mouse) Robey, 65, of Adrian, Missouri, died Monday, September 15, 2014 at Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler, Missouri. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2014 at the Altona Cemetery in Altona, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Altona Ladies Club or Serenity Care Hospice.
Carol was born March 14, 1949 in Butler, Missouri, to Herbert Austin and Dora Evelyn (McQuitty) Mouse. She showed Tennessee Walking Horses with her father for many years. She began working as a bank teller at Archie Bank before graduating from Adrian R-III High School in 1967. She continued her education at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri. Carol made a career as a bank teller and bookkeeper for over 30 years.
Carol married her childhood friend, David RaGene Robey on April 12, 1969 and made their home in Altona, Missouri where they raised their four children, Lynn, Debi, Doug and Stacy. She was a member of the Altona Baptist Church, Altona Ladies' Club and volunteered several years as club and project leader in the Altona 4-H Club. Carol loved to cook and entertain and was happiest when their home was filled with family, children, grandchildren and friends. Her open-door policy, welcoming home and excellent cooking ensured a constant flow of loved ones.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Virginia Lee Kimble. She is survived by her husband, RaGene of the home; her four children, Lynn Morris and husband, Jason of Vicenza, Italy, Debi Harrill and husband, Chad of Adrian, Missouri, Doug Robey and wife, Kacie of Butler, Missouri and Stacy Sample and husband, Steve of Adrian, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Tyler Robey, Bethany Burton, Landon Burton, Elijah Morris, Zayne Robey, Bryleigh Robey and Evelyn Sample; three step-grandchildren, Riley Taylor, Jeff Harrill and Cody Harrill; and two sisters, Mary Ann McConnico and husband, Bill of Greenwood, Missouri and Louise Stoner of Redmond, Washington.
