Eva "Fern" Purcell, 101, Spring Hill, Kansas, formerly of Freeman, Missouri, died Wednesday, June 17, 2015 in Spring Hill, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2015 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri.

Fern was born December 28, 1913 in Barry, Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Jenny (Hinch) Dunham. She had lived in Cass County and Freeman, Missouri before moving to Paola, Kansas. She worked as an in-home caretaker. Fern was a member of the Kansas City Baptist Temple in Raytown, Missouri. She was a master gardener.

Fern was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Purcell. She is survived by one daughter, Nancy L. Harper, Archie, Missouri; one granddaughter, Eva Wright, Paola, Kansas; two great-grandchildren, Lorene Anderson, Paola, Kansas and Beth Wright, Lenexa, Kansas, and one great-great-grandson, Archer Anderson, Paola, Kansas.
