Ester Frances Best, 86, Belton, MO, died March 7, 2008. Funeral services 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville. Visitation 1-2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the chapel. Ester was born September 15, 1921 in Freeman, MO, the daughter of Ernest and Mildred (Newman) Cockrell. Ester was united in marriage to Alvin E. Best on August 17, 1939. Ester was a dietician at several area nursing homes. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Harrisonville, MO. Her favorite scripture was John 3:16. Ester was a hard worker who enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning and working word puzzles.

Ester is survived by five sons, James Best, Fallon, NV, Joe Best and wife Phyllis, Sibley, MO, Ron Best and wife Ruby, Belton, MO, Russell Best, Butler, MO and Gary Best and wife Nancy, Belton, MO; half brother, Frank Cockrell and wife Gwen, Overland Park, KS and two half sisters, Beverly Cockrell, McLean, VA and Glada Costella and husband Bob, Denver, CO; 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
