Ernest Clifton Wine, Jr., 94, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away Monday, February 17, 2020 at Monterey Park Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Independence, MO.  A Funeral mass and Rosary was held Friday, February 28, 2020 at St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Kansas City, MO. Burial, with full military honors, at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS.

Ernest was born April 23, 1925 in Roseville, VA, the son of Ernest Clifton, Sr. and Maggie (Stribling) Wine.  He was a retired U.S. Army First Sergeant. He married Rosa Prüller in Germany.  After his retirement from the Army, Ernie worked in security at the Sears Warehouse on Truman Road in Kansas City. Always wanting to keep busy, he later worked as a clerk at the 7-11 convenience store on Blue Ridge Blvd. and others around the Kansas City area.  He had lived in the Kansas City area over 50 years. He was a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Kansas City.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Rose in 2008, one son, Erwin Wine, five sisters, and one brother.  He is survived by 1 brother, 2 grandchildren, Rosemary (Jarot) Gustin, and Alex (Hannah) Wine, and 6 great-grandchildren.
