Obituary

Ernest Clark Stackhouse, 88, Raymore, MO, died Monday, March 6, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 9 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with visitation from 10:00-11:00. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.

Ernest was born September 13, 1928 in Osceola, MO, the son of George Howard and Thelma Marie (Shelton) Stackhouse. He moved to Adrian, MO in the 1930's and then to Peculiar, MO. He had lived in Kansas City, MO before moving to Raymore in 1998. He was a WWII U. S. Army veteran. While serving in the Army, Ernest was a boxer. He also enjoyed bowling.

Ernest married Pauline Burger on October 25, 1964. He had worked at the Leeds Plant, and Bendix, before working for the City of Kansas City as an inspector in the Public Works Department, retiring in 1993.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Pauline on December 6, 1986, a daughter, Ronda and a brother, Pat. He is survived by two daughters, Michelle Stallard (Joe), Oskaloosa, KS and Renea Kloser (Jeff), Adrian, MO; a step-son, Mike Burger (Sandy), Lee's Summit, MO; two brothers, Wayne Stackhouse, Sedalia, MO and Dale Stackhouse (Etta), Garden City, MO; one sister, Bonnie Toti (Richard), Raymore, MO; 7 grandchildren, Angie Petersen (Eric), Amber Tracy (Steve), Justin Dryden (Amber), Jared Dunfield, Hollie Kloser, Amber Stallard (Shane), Jennifer Swisher (Drew); 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
