Obituary

Erin Sue (Jones) VanAcker, 39, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 12 at Faith Baptist Church in Harrisonville with visitation from 12:30-2:00 at the church. Burial will be in Orient Cemetery in Harrisonville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Lynn H. Kindred M.D. Cardiac Catherization Lab fund at The University of Kansas Hospital.  Checks should be made payable to KU Endowment and sent to Hospital Fund Development, 2330 Shawnee Mission Pkwy., Suite 302, Westwood, KS 66205, in memory of Erin.

Erin was born August 11, 1974 in Independence, Missouri, the daughter of John David "J. D." and Ginger Sue (Schmoll) Jones. She was a 1992 graduate of Harrisonville High School and received her LPN degree from Nevada Tech, Class of '93. She married Jim VanAcker on October 8, 2011 at Faith Baptist Church in Harrisonville. She was a lifelong resident of Harrisonville.  Erin worked as an LPN for St. Luke's Liver/Transplant Office in Kansas City.  She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Harrisonville and the Bayard Chapter No. 179, Order of Eastern Star, Harrisonville. She collected cookie jars and salt and pepper shakers.

Erin was preceded in death by her father, J. D. Jones and a half brother, Chris Jones, her maternal grandparents, Henry and Mabel Schmoll and her paternal grandparents, Clyde and Sarah Jones. She is survived by her husband, Jim, of the home; her mother and stepfather, Ginger and James C. Holt, Harrisonville, Missouri; one brother, Jeff Jones and wife, Nicole, Newton, Kansas; half sister, Danna Moore and husband, Mac, Mansfield, Missouri; 3 stepdaughters, Ashley, Korryn and Karlee VanAcker, all of Blue Springs, Missouri, and an uncle, Bill Schmoll, Blue Springs, Missouri.
