Emma Faye Cooley, 86, of Harrisonville, MO, died Saturday, October 28, 2006 at Golden Years in Harrisonville, MO. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville, Missouri, officiated by Pastor Greg Gilliam, Grace Christian Tabernacle, Harrisonville, Missouri. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri. Music was by Susan Holden. Casketbearers were Andrew Chancellor, Randy Cooley, David Troby, Joseph Lavery, Ronald Lavery, Jeffery Mickelberry and Jimmy Mickelberry, Jr. Honorary casketbearers were Emma's grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Contributions may be made to Oakland Cemetery or to Good Shepherd Hospice.
Emma was born February 1, 1920 in East Lynne, MO, the daughter of Charles E. and Harriet (Groce) Kagarice. She was united in marriage to Arthur Franklin Cooley on June 22, 1938 in Garden City, MO. Emma was a life long area resident and a long time member of Grace Tabernacle Church. She was a homemaker for many years and started a 17-year career in 1965 as a cook at the Dinner Bell Restaurant.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arthur, in 1994; one son, Ronald Cooley in 2003; 5 brothers and one sister. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Delores and Jim Proctor, Harrisonville, and her daughter, Peggy Troby, Harrisonville; daughter-in-law, Rosemary Cooley; 3 brothers, Jack Kagarice, Harrisonville, John Kagarice, Peculiar, MO and Rob Kagarice, Butler, MO; one sister, Mildred Leavell, Archie, MO; 10 grandchildren 22 great-grandchildren.
