Freeman, MO, died Monday, June 16, 2008 at the Rehabilitation Center of Raymore in Raymore, MO. Funeral services 7:00 PM Thursday, June 19 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville with visitation from 6:00-7:00 PM at the chapel. Graveside services 11:00 AM Friday, June 20 at Cravens Cemetery in Camden, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Freeman Baptist Church, 303 Washington Street, Freeman, MO 64746.

Elwyn was born August 15, 1921 in Carrolton, MO, the son of Jennings Price and Miriam (Jones) Myers.

Elwyn was a member of the Freeman Baptist Church, where he was a deacon for 40 years. He was a loyal servant and always there to help others. Elwyn was a WWII Army veteran, serving in the Pacific. He retired after 40 years, working as a dispatcher for the Amoco Pipeline in Freeman. He was a Boy Scout Master for 12 years and a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say and was proud to have two sons and one grandson achieve Eagle Scout. Elwyn served on the Cass Midway R-1 School Board for six years, facilitating the consolidation of three community schools. He was a member of the Grand River Masonic Lodge for 60 years.

Elwyn was a loving husband and father, fisherman and proud "Grandpa" to six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He married Mary Margaret James, daughter of Jesse James and Mary Godley James on June 27, 1942.

Elwyn was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Evelyn Myers. He is survived by his wife, Mary Margaret, of the home; two sons, Kevin Price Myers and wife, Marsha, Kansas City, KS and James Kent Myers and wife, Donna, Sapulpa, OK; one daughter, Kimberly Kay Hoffman and husband, John, Lake Winnebago, MO; six grandchildren, Alissa Kamp Unruh, Sean Price Myers, Raleigh Prescott Myers, Erica Jo Hinson, Meredith Leanna Myers and Leah Caroline Hoffman and two great-grandchildren, Lindsay Lea Unruh and Bridget Nicole Unruh.
