Elsie Ann Cantrell, 80, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Friday, March 23, 2007 at her home. Funeral services were held Sunday, March 25 at the Atkinson Chapel, Harrisonville. Burial was in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.
Elsie was born September 24, 1926 in Mismark, North Dakota, the daughter of Paul and Emma (Heid) Joersz. She married Arvil Ray Cantrell on October 29, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Elsie was originally from North Dakota where she met Arvil. They lived in the Lisle, Missouri area before moving to Harrisonville where she has lived for 27 years. She would have been married 60 years this September. Elsie was a homemaker who loved cooking, baking and canning. When not raising six children, she enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles and embroidery.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arvil Cantrell, and her brothers, Elmer and Paul Joersz. She is survived by six children, Barbara Kudlacik, New Jersey, Ronnie Cantrell, Columbia, Tennessee, Jerry Cantrell, Garden City, Missouri, Larry Cantrell, Harrisonville, Missouri, Virginia Case, Roeland, Park, Kansas, Robert Cantrell and his wife, Kathryn, Freeman, Missouri; one brother, Donald Joersz, Washington, one sister, Dorothy Wetzel, North Dakota; seven grandchildren, Shelly Cantrell, Mary Kawiecki, Willis Case, Melissa Case, Ginger Case, Christy Cantrell and Scharlie Cantrell and six great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Roxanne, Miranda, Veronica, Mallory and Randy.
